Configure a Pre-Upsell Offer in Your Store’s Checkout Flow
The Pre-Upsell feature allows you to show an additional offer before the customer reaches the payment confirmation step. This helps you increase your average order value (AOV) while keeping the checkout experience smooth and fast.
This guide helps you enable and configure a Pre-Upsell offer inside your store’s checkout flow.
What You Can Do with Pre-Upsell
You can use a Pre-Upsell to offer additional value to your customers. The following list describes what you can accomplish with this feature.
-
Present an optional add-on or complementary product before payment
-
Increase order value without requiring a second checkout
-
Customize the product, message, and price displayed in the offer
-
Enable or disable the offer at any time
How the Pre-Upsell Works in the Checkout Flow
The Pre-Upsell appears after the customer provides their contact and shipping details and before they enter payment information. This placement ensures that the offer is presented at a natural point in the shopping experience.
Customers can take the following actions:
-
Accept the offer, which automatically adds the product to their cart
-
Decline the offer, which takes them directly to the payment page
