Pause Subscription Billing

You can pause subscription billing at the store level without stopping new customers from subscribing. This option allows you to continue collecting subscribers while temporarily preventing recurring charges from being processed.

This is useful during maintenance periods, pricing changes, or when you need to stop billing without disabling subscription products.

Follow these steps to pause subscription billing for a store:

  1. Log in to your Phoenix dashboard.

  2. In the left navigation panel, go to Stores.

  3. Find the store you want to update and click the pencil icon next to it.

  4. Select the Other Options tab.

  5. Disable all subscription types.

    This pauses billing on the existing cadence while still allowing new subscribers to sign up.

  6. Click Continue on each step until you reach the final screen.

  7. Click Update Storefront to apply the changes.

Once updated, all subscription types will appear disabled, and recurring billing will stop until they are re-enabled.

What Happens When Billing Is Paused

When subscription billing is paused:

  • New subscribers can still be collected

  • Existing subscriptions remain active

  • No recurring charges are processed

  • Billing resumes automatically once subscription types are re-enabled
